The music of 2013…

I haven’t quite decided if I should continue with this thing or not. 2013 was a bit of a non-bloggy year for me and I’m not feeling any great desire to write posts at the moment. But, we’ll see.

I didn’t really have the energy to think about end-of-year lists properly. Here are some random bits and pieces of the things that impressed me in the music world of 2013.

Gig-wise, it doesn’t feel like 2013 was a particularly great year…but there were a lot of gigs and thinking about it there were quite a few awesome shows. Stand-out performances include…in no particular order:

Onsind with a full band at the Black Heart in Camden (3 May 2013)
Delay, Spoonboy and Martha in Kingston-upon-Thames (3 June 2013)
Fever Dream and Flowers at Indietracks (July 2013)
Anamanaguchi at The Garage, London (15 September 2013)
Japanther at Birthdays, London (17 October 2013)
The Mountain Goats at Union Chapel, London (8 October 2013)
Parquet Courts at Flow Festival, Helsinki (10 August 2013)
This Many Boyfriends, Martha and Standard Fare at London Popfest (2 March 2013)
Ghost Mice and Olive Anne at Empty Shop in Durham (28 June 2013)
